Regularly eating mushroom can reduce risk of prostate cancer, according to a study conducted by researchers from Tohoku University’s School of Public Health in Japan.

The reduction in cancer risk is found more significant in men aged 50 years and older. The study was published in the International Journal of Cancer.

The study found men who ate three or more times per week were 17% less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer.

Not all mushrooms are created equal. Some mushrooms are more potent in terms of their anticancer activities. The study could not tell you which mushrooms are more protective against prostate cancer.
