This is an old study published in 1967. The study examines how asparaginase which deplete asparagine, a critical amino acid, help fight leukemia in three patients.
In two patients with advanced acute lymphatic leukemia, the therapy with the enzyme L-asparaginase improved their conditions significantly.
In the third case, the patient used a large dose of the enzyme and his condition responded well. The treatments resulted in rapid necrosis of lymph node masses and clearance of kleukemine infiltrate.
This enzyme may also help cancers like acute and chronic granulocytic leukemia.
