A new study published this year suggests that using Asafoetida and Sesame may help prevent covid 19 infection.

The study led by Syed Musthapa Meeran in India and colleagues found multiple active ingredients in these two foods against covid 19, from a bunch of culinary spices.

Earlier, the researchers identified a dozen bioactive ingredients against covid 19 from commonly herbal medicines.= including glycyrrhizic acid from licorice that may be used to prevent covid 19 infection.

Another group of researchers also from India found that natural polyphenolic compounds, i.e., glucogallin, mangiferin, and phlorizin can be used to prevent covid 19.  These polyphenolics can inhibit the protease that is critical for the replication of Sar Cov 2 virus.
